Casper Star Tribune: Congrats to NOLS on 50 Years

“NOLS isn’t just about prowess in the wilderness. We all have mountains to climb. Some are the literal kind, where technical skills and physical fitness come into play. Others are metaphorical: We might find ourselves trying to become better at something, tackling a large project at work or navigating a difficult time in our personal lives.

The NOLS curriculum addresses all of that. Students learn to be adaptable and resourceful. They learn to persevere and to pursue goals doggedly. Those are life skills – skills that will stay with students long after they leave their mountain, desert, jungle or ocean classroom.
