Idaho Rescue Training Brings NOLS Wilderness First Aid to Magic Valley

Idaho Rescue Training recently hosted a two-day NOLS Wilderness First Aid course for Magic Valley residents. It’s a good way to prepare for outdoor recreation this summer, says senior instructor Paul Holle: “knowing what to do in an emergency, especially when you don’t have access to calling 911…is really important.”

“We start with our patient assessment system where we need to have a system to gain information about our patient,’ said Paul Holle, a senior instructor for NOLS. ‘So that we can make an educated decision on what we need to do for them and where they need to go.’

Following that, responders take a look at traumatic injuries…Nicole Ripke signed up for the course and on day one, she said it was fun.

‘It’s definitely something I hope to never have to use. But It’s nice to be prepared in any situation that could happen,’ she said.”
